We offer a comprehensive range of training packages. All training is developed in partnership with commissioners to ensure that it meets local needs and circumstances.
Some of the training we have delivered in the past includes:
Circles of support and live planning
Our associate Pauline Doyle has been delivering circles of support workshops for over 10 years. These workshops develop an understanding of the importance of relationships and isolation. These workshops have been delivered in Warrington and Oldham.
Support brokerage training
Our associates Laurence Clark, Vicki Hornby and Lynn James-Jenkinson have delivered support and training in relation to all aspects of brokerage.
Making information accessible inc. Easy read training & Graphic facilitation training:
Our associates Vicki Hornby and Jason Rhodes delivered easy read training for provider organisations in Manchester. Pip Horne provides graphic facilitation training for us.
Equality, Diversity and Human Rights inc. Disability Equality Action Training, Equality Act training, Mental Capacity Act training, Human Rights Act training, Equality Impact Assessment training:
Our Disability Equality Action Training increases participants’ ability to understand, identify and challenge disability discrimination. It is based on the social model of disability and delivered by disabled trainers who combine their lived experience of discrimination with social theory. Participants learn to practically apply the social model by identifying disabling barriers within their organisations. We have so far delivered this training to:
- Oldham PCT
- Bury Council Children’s Team
- Wigan Council
- Sefton Council
Providing High Quality Healthcare for People with Learning Disabilities (e-learning):
Our associate Dene Donalds is project managing the Health Equalities Group Learning Disability Awareness e-learning tool which will be made available for over 50 Hospitals in the North West. The tool is created by our own in house technical and design team.
